Butterfly House

Carmel, CA

The stunning Butterfly House in Carmel, California was a challenging project, yet in the downturn of the economy, helped keep Marmo e Granito busy through tough times. This architectural masterpiece, built in 1950 by Frank Wynkoop, is located on the ocean hugging Scenic Road on the Monterey Peninsula. Marmo e Granito was hired by the Walters Group to give this  iconic landmark some updating.  Sourcing the stone from a local distributor in Carmel, the slabs were then driven up the coast to Seattle, where the Marmo Team worked it’s magic. Over the next 18 months, the pieces were fabricated in stages, brought back to Carmel and installed making the Butterfly House one of the most sought after locations for architects, contractors and interior designers.
